Jason has worked for First Nations at the local, regional and national level for the last twenty years. His experience includes: advising on financial components of treaty and self-government negotiations including fiscal relations, own source revenue, taxation and capital transfer chapters; conducting economic analysis for First Nations in impact benefits agreement negotiations; preparing service cost estimates for First Nations in negotiations with local governments to purchase water, sewer and transportation services; comprehensive community planning, including spreadsheet analysis of a First Nation government’s fiscal position in different planning, infrastructure finance and development scenarios; and, planning, research and policy development for the First Nation-led institutions established by the First Nations Fiscal Management Act. Jason completed his undergraduate degree in Commerce (Urban Land Economics) at the University of British Columbia in 1994. In 1998, Jason completed his M.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Jason is currently serving on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer of the First Nations Health Authority. Jason is also a member of the Squamish Nation.
