John Doolan is a senior real estate lawyer in the Real Estate Group of Miller Thomoson’s Vancouver offfice. He has a wide variety of experience in corporate-commercial, real estate and aboriginal law matters, and is co-lead of Miller Thomson's national Aboriginal Law Group.
John has been a commercial real estate lawyer for over 30 years. His experience includes advising on major projects and financings, infrastructure development, structuring transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, partnerships and joint ventures, real estate development and leasing.
John has extensive experience in a wide range of aboriginal law matters, including with respect to buidling relationships and partnerships with First Nations, First Nation land tenures, and commercial agreements and financings involving First Nations. He represents both First Nations and business enterprises on economic development matters, including complex structures and projects.
John has worked successfully with federal, provincial and aboriginal governments and officials, including First Nation councils and administrations, the Department of Indigenous Services Canada, Justice Canada, the office of the provincial Attorney General and the Superintendent of Real Estate on a wide range of legal issues.
