Chris Murray has been the City Manager of Hamilton since January 1, 2009.
Under his leadership, the City has forged ahead with a number of City building initiatives including a renewed focus on the downtown and waterfront, a mobility strategy, neighbourhood action program and most recently a strategy to re-image the 800 acre Stelco property. He is most committed to ensuring the 7800 employees that work for the City of Hamilton earn the trust and confidence of its citizens and businesses through sound leadership and innovation.
Chris is a registered professional planner with over 25 years’ experience leading major infrastructure projects, including the recent $1.2B LRT and GO Station initiative, the Downtown McMaster Health Campus, Tim Hortons Stadium and the Red Hill Valley Parkway.
Chris is currently Chair of the Municipal Benchmarking Network of Canada.
